The food and Service was excellent. Love the place and the people

Went here three times. Once for brunch and twice for a late dinner. Each time the service was very slow and mediocre. The food was a little overpriced for the quality but the location is great. If the servers were better, more friendly, interested, and present, I probably wouldn’t have cared so much about the food being just alright.

We ordered dinner to go tonight and Rio City really delivered. Super friendly on the phone and at pick up, asked questions to make sure we were getting everything we wanted, AND offered us G&T’s to go in little cardboard soup containers! The food was fabulous. Give them some business during quarantine, they deserve it.

Fantastic view of the Sacramento River and the marina. The food is very good and well priced. Happy hour is a must do with plenty of food and drink specials. Rio City Cafe is where you should go if you're visiting. With its close proximity to old Sacramento there is plenty to do.

Wonderful dinner with a beautiful ambiance. We went for our 20th Anniversary dinner, got a great seat on the patio in the corner and had great meal. Started with the Baked Brie and Prosciutto Board, our entrees were Rio Surf and Turf and Jambalaya. The meat on the Rio Surf and Turf was cooked perfectly. The shrimp were tender and buttery. Jambalaya had salmon in it which was new to us and was very impressed with the test. Can't wait to go back.

Great view while you eat on the river...always enjoy the atmosphere and they have a great fully stocked bar... The food is served with a smile and is made in a timely fashion but not just thrown together..The menu is pricey but not expensive...The parking is a little tricky because you either have to use the parking structure or park on the street both cost you money...

Great seafood and service paired with a scenic, and for a native Sactamentan, a nostalgic, but also sad view of the riverfront. For those of you who are young or new to Sacramento, the area has been "upgraded" to the point of being unrecognizable to us old timers. The area has been remodeled, and it probably needed the face lift. But it's also a sad reminder that time marches on, regardless.That's not Rio City Cafe's fault, though. In fact, the service and the food was excellent. In fact, I was with my niece and her husband, and we were very impressed with how friendly and efficient everyone was. There was a long line of people waiting for tables, and the amount of grumbling about that was pretty thick. But the employees took everything in stride, kept smiling, and did their jobs efficiently. They gained my admiration with that. I don't have that level of patience. Cheers and much 💖💗💓 to the staff of Rio City Cafe!

Nice place for delicious American food. it's so tasty. looking forward to returning with my relatives. the bill was well within reason for the quality.

The steak hash is so delicious! The chorizo gravy is bomb! Great location right on the river and it's always easy to get a table even with a large party..

American food, mmm, very delicious. Do not leave if it's busy, it is worth it. Staff treated us so nice. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.

This place has wonderful customer service. And the food is absolutely excellent , the whole staff and team are great. I will recommend this place to everyone that’s looking for a nice place to eat in Old Sac.

We had a surprise b'day party at Rio and we were treated like royalty. The service was great. The food and drinks were good--the French Toast was to die for! The prices were a bit high, but we had a big group (7 adults and 4 kids = $220).

Had a nice time with a friend. I Ordered Crab Benedict. It was so yummy!! She ordered the Frittata. They both We're so good. We enjoyed bottomless mimosas to. The service was awesome. This is one of my favorite places to dine.

Delicious leisurely lunch overlooking a sparkling blue sky and peaceful river. Warm and efficient service.

We were so disappointed in the service we received, or I should say, "lack of service". We got one of the worst servers we've ever had. She waited on all the tables around us and completely ignored us. We had asked for water several times and she never brought it. We saw her visiting with her coworker for about 10 minutes and then she brought water to other tables in front and behind us. When I tried to get her attention she snapped at me and said she would get to our table when she was finished waiting on the other tables. She was horrible! We I had asked her to refill our empty water cup several times and she didn't do it. She was not only rude, but then she went to the table behind us and started talking to them about us. For that reason we will not be returning. We were so disappointed due to the horrible service by this particular server. She needs more training.

american food and the atmosphere here is excellent. Came in on a Thurs. The service was helpful and kind. It has a great atmosphere. Food is similar to a place in San Francisco I loved.

Rio City Cafe was a wonderful surprise. We wander down to the river's edge near old Town and we're expecting a quaint Cafe, but Rio City is an elegant little boardwalk gem that serves delicious high-end fare. Grilled peaches on the Tower Burger are to die for. I highly recommend saving the horse carriage ride for after your meal, since you will most likely be too full to walk.

Very good salmon if you like seafood I would definitely recommend this dish. It was tender and juicy but not too juicy just the right amount to make you want to devour the plate in 1 bite.

It's a beautiful place to have brunch. Service was excellent. My only complaint us that my food came out more cooked than I would like. I ordered a loco Moco, my patty was too dry and my eggs was overcooked. Other than that, this is a great place to enjoy a morning with friends and family.

Slightly upscale place with a great location along the water in Old Sac. Menu runs to "American" with some seafood options, couple of beef entrees and some pasta dishes. The menu on Thanksgiving included a Roast Turkey dish and a prime rib. Rio City also has a list of cocktails that are just slightly different takes on favorites.The menu here is "comfortable", nothing too crazy or unusual. Great place when you have a group that includes grandparents and grandkids!

Such an amazing place for dinner. Definitely recommend, I had the maple bourbon bistro and it was to die for! Great service and a fine restaurant

One of the best places to eat in Old Sac. The food is solid but not out of this world. Good service but we went during a busy time and were left waiting on drinks and food.

We stopped in late after attending a live performance. The lights were on, but we didn't see too many people. As it turns out, they were mostly sitting on the covered patio along the banks of the Sacramento river. We were quickly seated and informed of the night's specials, which we didn't have. My brother in law (BIL) had the fish and chips. I had jambalaya, and my wife had a sirloin steak. Everyone liked their meal. The service was good, the employees friendly and the atmosphere, pleasant. I would return to this restaurant and encourage you to give it a try.

The Clam Chowder in their sour bread bowl was thick, creamy, delicious, and filling. The sour dough three cheese appetizer with balsamic and red pepper flakes is a delicious meal by itself! Plenty of seating, both indoors and outside on the river. Very professional waitress: friendly and knowledgeable. Cocktails, beer, & wine available.

I was there for a birthday party. Staff was friendly and servers was Awesome. A little $$$ but everyone was pleased.

We had the Tortellini dinners and it was AWFUL!!!! Horrible taste and had stomach pain for hours afterwards! Service wasnt that great either, had to ask for a drink refill after 20 minutes of waiting for one. Was not worth the $70 bill, for two people!!! Will never go back!!!

A preferred spot for quality american food. Arrived at six, it was not packed. This place has a cool design.

Great location, outside tables are heated very well. Personnel is very friendly and the food is amazing. Would probably also be a great location for special events.

The steak tacos are very good. Corn tortillas with cilantro and beautifully done steak. The rice wasn't the best, but the quality of the tacos more than made up for that. There's a lot of patio seating right on the river with a lovely view.

It was not good! Prime rib no flavor. My friend had the fish and chips, not good!!! Fries were cold. Steak salad was reported as “not good.” Not coming back to try something else, not worth my time!!

I had the crab melt and a clam chowder, they were great. We had outdoor seating with the view of the river and it was beautiful. Additionally, the service was good. It's right in old sac so theres other things to do after.

Decent service, the food options are a bit pricey though typical for Old Sacramento. This is not a fancy spot; casual for all she groups. There is a ramp to allow access to the deck dining.

Good spot for quality American food. The food was tasty. The place has a great feel to it. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.

Threw an engagement party here for my friend and it went so well! The staff are so kind and helpful, and the event coordinator/manager are great to work with. Food came out for 30 people all at the same time and was delicious. Beautiful view of the river. Wonderful experience.

Went here for lunch on a perfect sacremento summer day. This place has a nice outside seating with river views. Fried calamari was superb. I ordered crab melt and my wife ordered shrimp tacos. Both were delicious. All n all it was a good experience.

Dinner was absolutely delicious and the staff was great! My boyfriend and I ordered two lemonades, chicken schnitzel, and boneless short ribs, super yummy!

I always stop grabbing some food here. I love the quick customer service and well prepared dishes. Great work.
